Lorelai was teasing Rory for breaking into the school to ring the school bell just for morning breakfast. There were no consequences for Rory. Another episode was where Lorelai came over to have a sleepover with Rory and friends. She started to act like a young teenager was rated the delivery boy who came over with food. Obviously, that's a bad example of parenting because she's being a bad influence to the younger people who are just below her age. She's an authoritarian parent as well because she allows her to do things, but there are time limits such as curfew that she has to follow without disobeying it. As you can see that, Gilmore Girls are signifying because it portrays single motherhood and the reality of a woman raising her only child. Lorelai is an educated mother who has a part time job who also is a homemaker. She provides the positive attitude as a role model for her daughter
