I completely agree with what you said about women were seen as weak, helpless and meant to be in the house. But Rosie the Riveter was the face of change. As you can from the picture I attached, Rosie is in what looks like a blue factory jumpsuit, her hair tied back, and flexing her muscles. Her song was meant to get women involved with World War II.
