However, I have considered this for a long time and I have determined that it is not only possible, but worthwhile. I’m prepared to take on this responsibility and to commit to building on the foundations that we already have. My goal is to help the band get to the point we can not only make it to state every year, but that we score ones at state every year. If we work together and all pull in the same direction, I am confident that this can be done. One specific thing that can be done to accomplish this goal is to work harder at training the incoming freshmen in marching and music fundamentals. As I apply for this position, I understand the commitment and I am willing and ready to put in extra time and effort that will be required of me for training the band and guard. If I have to stay late, arrive early, or set up additional practices for those who need it, I will.
