Oscar Romero, the El Salvadoran archbishop in the movie Romero, was a man who found it extremely important to relate to and support those who were poor or less fortune in his town. The El Salvadoran government was constantly acting violently toward the people, especially priests, due to the fact that Archbishop Romero went against some government rules and policies. Archbishop Romero, during this tough time of violence, anger, and hatred, stood alongside his people and offered constant guidance and support, instead of letting the negativity bring him and the people of his city down.
