2024: Artifacts, context for learning and the modified assignment for EDTPA, demonstrate a correlation to SEP 3: MN-SEPT.03.B and MN-SEPT.03.M. Being able to know all your students helps the teacher make lessons by accommodating and challenging students throughout the lessons. This way all students are able to benefit from the lesson and grow in their learning. Context for learning allows teachers to see how many students need more support and how many need more challenges. By looking at the context for learning, I was able to provide more support for the students who struggle by checking in on them often, giving them shorter assignments, and sometimes working with them in a small group. This also helps students better understand the material. Also, by looking at the context for learning, I was able to provide a greater challenge to the students by giving them harder questions to solve. I would also find an activity or challenge for these students to do as they usually finish up with their activity sheet early. The modified assignment for EDTPA shows one way I was able to accommodate an activity sheet for the students learning. By modifying the students’ assignment, I was able to help them understand the assignment and not get overwhelmed/stressed. Many students who struggle in school often times clock out right away or just stay in space. This is why it is important to accommodate these students’ needs by checking in often and modifying their assignments.
