Saint Theodosius was born in cappadocia, Turkey in the year 423 AD. He began his studies at an early age, and became a lector while he was still young. In the course of his studies he viewed Abraham as a role model, and he wanted to follow in his footstep. Theodosius then sacrificed everything/everyone he treasured the most for the love of God. Saint Theodosius would always pray that the Lord would guide him on the way to salvation. He went to jerusalem and met with St. Simeon Stylites, Simeon recognized him as a holy man and leader, and invited Theodosius onto his pillar for prayer, blessing, and advice.
