Salem Poor: A Brave And Gallant soldier

Salem Poor was a hero in war, a freed African American and called “a brave and gallant soldier.” He went from slavery as a kid to a patriot in the Revolutionary War. Early in his life to when he reached adulthood he did many things to help the cause of the Revolutionary War.
In Salem Poor’s early life he got his last name from the people who used to own him John Poor and his son John Poor jr. Salem Poor’s family wasn’t mentioned a lot because not many people know about Salem Poor. All that was mentioned was Salem Poor’s father. His father's name is Jonah Poor. Was Salem a colonist yes he was but a patriot (fighting for the U.S) or a loyalist [fighting for Britain] well he was a patriot. What proof was there that he was a patriot well first he fought with them but he could just be a spy like Nathaniel Hale, well would he die for a coronal. That probably proves either he learned that fighting with the Americans was what he wanted or he was a patriot all along. So what was his achievements in the war Salem Poor had first he was found innocent for the murder of two people. One was a mother the other was her daughter because he died just minutes after he couldn't shoot them it turns out they were wearing red so somebody must of mistaken them for a redcoat. Salem Poor was a hero to most people in the war that's something that made him happy to make others happy in time of despair. What was Salem Poors rank In the Army? Salem Poor was a private. Many people said he was “taken too soon.” The reason he’s a private is because he works hard and fights like a trained Army soldier. Salem Poor's’ father was the family member because he might of been a gift to the family when they had a marriage or when they had a son.
