A love marriage is a marriage of two individuals based upon mutual love, affection, commitment and attraction. Homosexuals are being denied the right to marry just because they love some one of the same gender in America the supposed land of the free. Why is this right denied, because of hate, prejudice, and old beliefs? Same-Sex marriage is important because people should have the right to marry who they love whether they're of the same gender, stripped, and etc. Homosexual couples and heterosexual couples only difference is the gender of the person they love, homosexual couples should have the same right to marry that heterosexual couples do because homosexual couples are more likely to adopt one of the many children in foster care and family values that most would believe true.
Homosexual couples and heterosexual couples only difference is the gender of the person they love. “There are significant differences between the benefits and responsibilities of marriage and civil unions. People who are married usually enjoy more benefits than those in civil unions, including: Legal recognition of the relationship in other states, the ability to divorce in any state, regardless of where married, tax benefits available to married couples only, immigration benefits when petitioning for a non-citizen spouse, and federal benefits, such as social security, medical, and life insurance.”(Matthew Izzi, Marriage Compared to Civil Unions) So civil unions have to an extent no legal recognition of the relationship, they say they are married but legally they aren’t it’s like pretending almost. Does anyone want a pretend union with someone they have decided to spend the rest of their lives with? "Traditionally, marriage and procreation have been tightly connected to one another"(Family Research Council, Ten Arguments from Social Science against Same-Sex Marriage) The original purpose of marriage was all for money, power, and survival not for any procreative purpose but; what does it matter what marriages original purpose was? All that’s relevant today argument is what the purpose is now: which is the ultimate expression of love. Love isn’t gender specific. So Americans giving homosexuals civil unions and expecting them to be happy isn’t realistic.
Homosexual couples are more likely to adopt one of the many children in foster care and orphanages. “In the U.S. 397,122 children are living without permanent families in the foster care system. 101,666 of these children are eligible for adoption, but nearly 32% of these children will wait over three years in foster care before being adopted."(Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute, Facts and Statistics) Children that are in these situations do not have a preference of if they person who adopts them is homosexual or heterosexual just wants the love they deserve. "Around the world, there are an estimated 153 million orphans who have lost one parent. There are 17,900,000 orphans who have lost both parents and are living in orphanages or on the streets and lack the care and attention required for healthy development." Just think about how a stable environment where they will receive the care and attention they need. These children would be affected in a positive way just by legalizing same-sex marriage the number of children without a home and family will drop and give them the chance they never got before.
Family values that most would believe true are a sense of belonging no matter what, respect for one another, honesty, and forgiveness. "It is important that each member of my family feel that they are loved, that they belong and that they matter."(Sherri Kruger, Top 10 Essential Family Values) Homosexuals need this
