Personal Beliefs and Assumptions
I believe nursing is providing care for individuals to make them feel better at a time when they cannot help themselves. Nursing is treating, educating, and caring for patients. Nursing involves using every skill I learn from school along with communication skills to effectively communicate well with the patients. Nursing is educating the public about preventions and ways to maintain their health and be healthy. Health is the wellbeing of an individual. It is the way they compose themselves to be healthy and free of sicknesses. Another belief of nursing is that nurses needs to be competent of certain skills to successfully treat their patients. Some of the skills include intellectual and communication skills. Another belief is that nurses care about their patients because of their passion for helping people.
Significance of collaborating with other health professionals.
By collaborating with health professionals, the process of treating a patient increases significantly. The collaboration brings in diverse skills that can enhances nursing skills to better treat the patient. It helps to improve the quality care of a patient. It can also impact the patient’s safety and outcome, so it is significant for nurses to collaborate effectively with other health professionals to prevent any miscommunication.
Nursing as a Career
For me, being in the medical field does not mean making money, but what excites me the most is providing service for people and changing lives particularly children. I have not been diagnosed with any serious disorders, but my little sister was diagnosed with sclerosis which influence me to be in the medical field.
