In 2012 the Sandy Hook shooting shook the world, people started buying guns because it made them feel safer. More and more shootings have been happening, and we have an America and the rest of the world don’t know what to do about it. Gun violence and mass shootings have been a problem for decades. Places like Australia have taken big steps in the 90’s by banning semi-automatic guns after the Port Arthur massacre in 1996. Australia has about 13.7 guns per 100 people while America has 101 guns per 100 people (2009). Australia also has a lot fewer mass shootings than America.
