No fingertips, no love, no faith, and not a hint of emotions in sight, the pod people are all alike in their mission to make all of Santa Mira’s people just as they are. Their fingertips are burnt and they have no identities outside of their collective alien nature. This may seem as though this is an analogy for the unified nature of 1950’s suburban culture. However, even though social mindsets at this time valued a very singular idealistic lifestyle of a safe, simple community with like-minded individuals, they weren’t without emotions like the pod people.
