Interview with Saroj Kunjer-mother

I met Saroj Kunjer in her friend’s apartment (159 Bruce Beer Drive, Bampton, ON, L6V 3J2), I explained my role and the purpose of my visit. Saroj explained that her mother in law, her husband and herself bought a house last year, and the three of them own the property. Saroj informed that the 80 percent of the house belongs to the mother in law, as she invested more money, and the 20 percent belongs to her and her husband. Saroj reported that her intentions were only to have 50 percent of the ownership as she believes that her contributions of paying the mortgage earned that right.

Saroj reported that the relative is coming to Canada within the next two weeks to have a conversation with her mother in law, her husband and herself. Saroj stated that she wants her family back and said that “the family is a must”. Saroj explained that the family member is a person who deals with family matters and facilitates the resolution of family conflicts, a kind of mediator within the family. Therefore, Saroj said she expects that the situation with her husband is resolved and they can make a family agreement under certain conditions. Saroj stated that she talked to the family member and explained that she has certain conditions to be back into the residence, the first one is that the tenant leaves the residence, the second condition is that the distribution of the household payments must be divided accordingly with the percentage everyone owns, and the third one is that the mother in law, the husband and herself contribute to the house expenses (bills, mortgage and utilities) in a fairly way. Saroj noted that she is very positive about her family future as her husband seems to regret of what he did and has feelings of remorse, so she thinks her family member will be a good source for resolving their
