Saturday night fever can be deemed as critically acclaimed. When played it oozes with nostalgia dn touches the hearts of 70s babies by the first beat. Disco fills the room and you get traveled through time into the era of right clothes, swiveling hips, and dance. While representations of the past are always iconic in the present, beyond the aesthetics, this film carries parts of the 70s we should not praise. Cinematically the film captures the raw grimy side of such a culturally booming era. In regards to weather or not this film is “good’ or “bad,” it tackles the idea of hyper masculinity in a way that isn’t entirely effective, therefore not accomplishing conceptually the ideas it was claiming.

Tony was a character of selfish nature. His
