Saving Private Ryan was a film based on a true story. The film had a number of producers including Ian Bryce and Steven Spielberg, whom also directed. The movie was released in 1998, 5 years after the award winning film Schindler’s List also directed by Steven Spielberg. The film began with the assault on the Omaha Beach by American troops. It then explains the reason Private Ryan, played by Matt Damons, needed to be brought back from the front line. As a result, Captain John Miller, played by Tom Hanks, and his squad was sent on a mission to go into the enemy territory to find Private Ryan.
