I have read Schnabel’s questions 11-20 in its entirety. Schnabel’s first argument in these chapters begins with the belief some have of the world experiencing a time of conditions in which prosperity, peace, and righteousness are prevalent. He lists many scriptures that are often used to hold to that belief. (Isa. 55:11; John 3:11,1:29,12:32; 1John 4:14) He also uses many scriptures that lead to the reality that suffering and persecution will continue as evangelizing and making disciples is pursued. (Rom.8:18; 2 Cor. 1:5-10; Phil. 1:29; Luke 18:7-8; Matt. 24)
In questions 12-16 Schnabel discusses the covenant God made in the Old Testament with Israel and what effect that it has on Israel today. Schnabel points out that many believe Israel has a special destiny. He explains that the covenant God made with Israel did not dissolve it changed in a sense. The change is that having righteousness and being in the covenant are dependent on faith in Jesus.
In questions 17-20 Schnabel explains that the Antichrist, the beast, the “Lawless one” are the evil in the world that sets out to distract and destroy. Schnabel puts emphasis on the importance of “being ready” and aware as scripture warns continually.
