My Soda Choice Is Coke Zero Friends always asked me, why do I prefer drinking Coke Zero over other Coke products? Well my answer is simple, it is healthier than the other Coke products, they don’t have so many calories, and most of all the regular soda contains a lot of sugar. Coke Zero to me became a better and healthier option due to a couple of events that have occurred in my life, for example like working in restaurants most of my career, or my son’s mother being diagnosed with diabetes. I have been working in the restaurant business for about eight years now. In 2003, when I started working in my first restaurant which was a pizzeria named Mia Pizza Pasta Kitchen in Davenport, Florida. My general manager at the time told the pizza crew and me that we could drink all of the soda we wanted, so I began with the obvious choice Coke. Coke was sweet, fizzy and it definitely caught my taste buds. One day, as I was doing some research on Coke I realized that regular coke can do some harm to the people drinking the product. Coke has high amount of sugar and within the first twenty minutes of drinking Coke it raises the consumer’s blood sugar, and the liver responds by grabbing all the sugar and turns it into fat. So from the moment I did the research, so I stopped drinking original Coke.
During that time my son’s mother, Ashley was diagnosed as a Diabetic. A very harmful disease that can kill a human-being if not taken care of seriously. She could no longer drink any regular Coke products that contained any sugars.
