Than Altmans notion I strongly agree with. People are the reason for the challenges we face today, and the people are going to have to be the ones to fix it. I agree when he says that once we lose our biodiversity, its gone. I believe the reason I support his claim the most out of the five is because of my attachment to the endangered sea turtles that according to NMFS have 10 to 30 years left before extinction due to the oil spill. Altman solution to conserving Florida's biodiversity is to get people involved and excited by showing them plans for large, noticeable change.
Gary R Knight also made many valid points about how important the conservation of Florida's biodiversity is to us because our economy is extremely depended on our tourism, and a major attraction that brings travelers to Florida is our ecosystem. I agree with Knight fully, because we should have learned that development isn't always best in nature when Napoleon Broward came up with a brilliant plan to drain the everglades to bring investors to the area. But we don't need to keep developing, our beaches and other natural landscapes bring in people and money. the existence of a wide variety of plant and animal species in their natural environments, which is the aim of conservationists concerned about the indiscriminate destruction of rainforests and other habitats
