Music will forever and always be a major factor in someone’s life, because it can make a person feel or do anything that nothing else in the world can make them do. One of my favorite songs I listen to is “I Bet” by Ciara. This song is about a break up involving cheating. This song speaks to everyone around the world boys and girls, even though it is song and meant from a girls’ prospective.
The song I chose is “I Bet” by Ciara. This song is on her upcoming sixth studio album “Jackie”. It was released as the lead single from her album on January 26, 2015. This song is about a break up she had with her fiancé/ baby’s father. She talks about how she will start wanting her again once she’s with someone else, by saying “I bet you start loving me, Soon as I start loving someone else Somebody better than you, I bet you start needing me Soon as you see me with someone else Somebody other than you”. Ciara also talks about how it will hurt his pride “And I know that it hurts You know that it hurts your pride But you thought the grass was greener on the other side I bet you start loving me Soon as I start loving someone else Somebody better than you”.
I think the theme of the song is a love hate situation. I think this is the themes, because of how she expresses them using sarcastic tone of voices. I think this is a love hate song, because in the beginning of the song she is talking about how he will miss her once she is gone. It is like saying “someone never know what they have until it is gone”. When she sings that verse she is talking about how he will realize what he lost out on when he cheated on her. The grass is not always greener on the other side. The last way it is a long hate situation is at the end she says “Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh I hate, I hate that I'm singing this song, singing this song ‘Cause I love you Yeah I love you” and “Right now it’s killing me 'Cause now I have to find someone else When all I wanted was you”. Even though he cheated on her at the end of the day she still loves and is willing to work things out with him.
