It was on our return back I had noticed the pastel teal with pastel pink lining, Art Deco streamline moderne building was Señor Frogs. I was taken off guard by its color as it’s not the recurrent vibrant red or green color as its other establishments. However, after some research, I discovered it is a new occupant of the building. My research entailed all the history and transition of the occupants that inhabited this building. In 1939, its first occupant was Hoffman’s Cafeteria transitioning to its next occupant of Warsaw Ballroom. Warsaw Ballroom became after World War II a social hall for Polish descent retirees and adjusted with social culture into one of Miami Beach’s most prominent gay bars. Its last occupant was Jerry’s Famous Deli. Throughout all its occupants, the building remained with a white exterior with minor differentiation of small color lines. In spite, Señor Frogs decision to paint the building with this color scheme of pastel colors to comply with décor policies it embraces a homogeneity identity for Miami Beach. It gives me satisfaction such policies exist to preserve Miami’s Beach
