When June got abandoned at her first wedding it changed her into thinking marriage was unrealistic, but as time went on she changed her mind and married Neal. Another example is be- fore Zach went to jail he was a happy guy who was always looking on the positive side. Then when he came home from Jail his perspective had changed. So when Lilly was in her slump the two helped each other to look on the brighter side.
“I hope you will be happier in heaven, I told her. I hope you will not need any kind of wall up there. And if you see Mary, Our Lady, tell her we know Jesus is the main one down here, but we’re doing our best to keep her memory going” (201 Kidd). I think everybody relates to this quote because Lilly is wishing May has a good life in heaven and that she will be happy. It will probably be a different family member with a different situation. But everybody wants their fam- ily to know that they love them and want the best for them and most of all that they will be missed.
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd is a great book about a great journey of find- ing truth and family. My favorite part of the book was all of it. But I liked the parts including Zach very much because I enjoy romance. If I could've made one thing happen differently I would've made it so May didn't die. That was so sad and I really wish she would've been alive to see June get
