Nowadays technology has become a necessary part of our lives. Many people prefer to shop for food, clothing, and various other items using technology such as using application on their phones to buy groceries for example. By doing so, people have to put in their bank account / payment information on their devices.
Most of the annals of the history of computer security breaching are relatively recent since modern people use computers, phones, tablets, etc. to do more important tasks in life. Unfortunately, the information we put on our devices are not totally guaranteed to be safe from hackers who exploit data for their own personal gains.
As I have stated earlier, as the world advances, crime and treachery advances as well. Since our world practically centers on technology and online data, criminals have hopped on to the cyber-centric bandwagon to do their unwholesome deeds virtually. There are a myriad of recent cyber security breaches especially considering the amount of these crimes are burgeoning. For starters, in 2005 a software engineer employee of AOL acquired and sold 92 million screen names and e-mail addresses to spammers (Quick et al.).
