So many American communities are segregated because of the reluctance to integrate minority races into predominantly white neighborhoods. Around the 1950’s, there were some housing developments for black Americans. Although housing was becoming more readily available to black Americans, there were downsides to this. One downside includes, many neighborhoods being segregated and if there was a black family living in a predominantly white community, that family was terrorized.
