The kairos presented in the episode is apparent in the climax scene where Elaine's father refuses to be seen walking outside of the restaurant with Jerry. Throughout the story, the other characters such as Kramer and George poke fun not only at the price of Jerry's jacket, but especially the pattern design on the inside. Working up to the climax of the episode, it is made clear that Elaine's father is rather old fashioned and not a fan of clothing with bright, obnoxious colors and patterns, often making comments pointing to this in front of Jerry. Jerry, knowing that Elaine's father would be ashamed to see the inside of his jacket, attempts his best to hide it from him. However, in his best attempt, it can’t be avoided. Right when they are going to leave the restaurant and when Elaine's father is starting to have a positive opinion of Jerry, he turns his jacket inside out to prevent the suede from getting ruined by the snow.
