She started her singing career with her siblings in their group called Selena Y Los Dinos. By the age of 23, Selena was nominated for about 70 awards. Yolanda Saldivar killed young pop star Selena in 1995.
This all started when Selena’s father, Abraham Quintanilla found out that Yolanda Saldivar had been embezzling money from the fan club. Selena and her dad were planning to fire Yolanda. Saldivar is currently facing life in prison. She is being kept in solitary confinement since she had been receiving many death threats as soon as she arrived. Earlier this year, there was a rumor floating around about Saldivar. This rumor claimed that she had killed herself in prison. This was found to be a hoax but Selena’s fans were not too happy when they heard the truth.
Overall, we lost a queen. Selena had won 67 awards including awards like Tejano Music awards, Latin Billboard awards, Premio Lo Nuestro awards, BMI awards, and more. She was 23 when she was murdered.
