Self Assessment (MLQ) And The Servant Leadership Questionnaire

For this week we had the Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire (MLQ) and the Servant Leadership Questionnaire. The questions provided by the MQL gave both Self and Rater forms. The Self form measures self-perception of a leader's behavior, while the Rater form measures leadership. For the Transformational styles I feel as though I have many strengths. I have always done things to benefit my group or organization, whether it was in the classroom or at my job. I believe a leader must go beyond their own self-interests if they want to be a good leader. I have also always held a high ethical and moral standard for both myself and for my team. Furthermore, I believe my Transactional styles are very promising as a future leader. I find it beneficial to keep track of any and all mistakes, whether I am at fault or one of my teammates are. In order to grow and progress as a leader, each individual must be willing to learn from their mistakes. Perfection does not exist, yet I have always tried my best to get the closest I can. Although I was rather pleased with my overall outcome of this questionnaire, I do believe there are some necessary readjustments to make. In the past I have struggled to improve on my Passive/Avoidant styles. Often times I wait till things go terrible wrong to make adjustments or fix my individual mistakes. I think this reflects badly on leaders because they must be able to focus on their individual issues as equally as they do on their group's. I definitely see this as one of my weaknesses that needs improvement. Another concern of mine would be my lack of effort in making decisions. Sometimes I am too indecisive and quiet with my own thoughts and opinions. As any good leader, I must learn to be more opinionated and voice my
