After learning about Selye’s general adaptation syndrome, I thought of a few times that I felt these 3 specific stages kick in when I was dealing with an extremely stressful situation. I will never forget the feeling I had on the way to the hospital at 2 a.m. as my Granny was being rushed into the emergency room. I can specifically remember each and every one of these steps kicking in during this situation.
