While visiting or living in Spain, it would be obvious that much of the culture revolves around the Catholic Church. One could even say the Catholic Church is found in much of the country’s culture. Semana Santa is a celebration full of processions that revolve around the Blessed Virgin Mary and Christ’s Passion equinox (‘Semana Santa in Spain’, n.d., para. 7). Semana Santa is a celebration during the Catholic holy week that is not on a particular date but rather falls right before Easter weekend (‘Semana Santa in Spain’, n.d., para. 5). While this might sound complicated, this date can be figured out ahead of time, even though it is not on the same day every year.
