I spent approximately 40 hours completing my senior project.
2. Describe the types of problems you encountered while working on each part of this project: the paper, the hours, and the product.
One problem I faced during this project was not knowing what to write my paper about, I was very worried because everyone I talked to about it already knew their paper topic and I felt like I was behind. Once I figured out my paper topic it was very easy to find evidence and write the paper. Another obstacle was the I had to get cleared by the hospital to be able to do my job shadow and it was a lengthy process. I had to get 2 TB tests and meet with the volunteer coordinator …show more content…
Now that you have completed your entire project including the paper, hours, and product, summarize how the three parts link to each other. How does the topic of your research paper relate to the 20 (or more) hours needed to finish your product?
My paper relates to my hours because I wrote about the nursing shortage and I got to experience that first hand. While I was at the hospital I got to talk to some of the nurses and they were saying that they work a lot of hours because there aren't enough nurses at the hospital.
4. Looking back, how would you change your senior project? Would you choose an entirely different project or modify some aspect of the one you pursued? Would you change your choice of mentor, product or amount of time you put into the project as a whole? If you were completely satisfied with all of your choices, describe why.
Looking back I would not change anything about my project, the research topic was very interesting to me and that helped make it easier to write since I was interested in it. I was very happy that I choose to job shadow a nurse because it wasn't necessarily something I thought I would be interested in but after this whole experience I am more interested in nursing. I wouldn't change my mentor because I knew her personally so it wasn't awkward when I was with her and I wasn't afraid to ask her
