Her name was Bethany McQuiston, and she was new to our school. Asking around the team, no one had ever heard of her, and seeing her the first day, we weren’t quite sure what to think about her. I’m not quite sure when Coach McQuiston formed a relationship, maybe a month into the season, but I have never made a better decision. Being just a volunteer coach, she spent all her hours scouting and forming ideas for how we could beat the next team. She implemented great offenses at the end of the season and new drills for practice. When coach retired from coaching, I knew she would be the perfect fit for the job and I wouldn’t want anyone else in that position taking care of my former teammates. As well as a coach, I formed a friend in Coach McQuiston. Her room became my new locker to the point where I know longer know my locker combination. We always take turns bringing in snacks and sweets for each other. I know I can confide in her for about anything. The first person I now go to for advice is her, and she is always waiting with a helping hand. I hope we always remain close because she is an amazing
