The judge in this drug case was very lenient to the defendant. It appears that the judge is an advocate for medical marijuana. In my honest opinion, I do not agree with felons being able to rent apartments. Often times yes people change but what if they do not? We live in a society where there are so many criminals walking the streets and with the uproar of violence let alone this year, makes it scary to know we can live next door to a felon. Michael Chadwick is an example of someone who has changed their lifestyle but I don’t believe he should live next door to a person who wants to live a normal lifestyle. To look from a more optimistic point of view, if the felony was committed years ago and the felon has not committed another crime they may be able to rent an apartment. Non-violent felons such as those imprisoned for distribution of illegal drugs should be able to move into apartments if they changed their lifestyle. On the flip side, a felon who’s a kidnapper or rapist or anything violent should not have the choice to even live in the same community as normal
