The Seven Years War changed the approach of British imperial government toward colonies with the help of William Pitt. William Pitt, was believed to be a mad man but at the same time people thought of him as a strategist genius. During the late years of the Seven Years War William Pitt recognized a few problems that colonies had with the British government. Early on colonies did not want to support the financial burden of the British military while at war. Colonist disliked the British so much that they would trade goods with enemy forces.
