Through the ministry of Chi Alpha, God delivered Brandye from a dysfunctional past to become a mature believer in Christ and a strong spiritual leader. While most people view the mission of Chi Alpha as reaching college students with the Gospel and spiritually transforming college campus, the balance of the mission is to transform the marketplace and the world; calling for alumni to carry the culture of Chi Alpha beyond campus. Following graduation, a direct relationship between student and campus pastor ends, however, a need remains for someone to help graduates navigate obstacles and pitfalls as they discover new healthy within the local church. The first quality, Brandye’s charisma or sociability, stems from her sensitivity to the needs of others and her desire to please others. However, due to the inherent need for community to replenish emotional energy, Brandye may disregard personal needs or responsibilities to ensure these social connections. To empower a healthy transition from Chi Alpha to the local church, Brandye needs a coach to help her redefine relationships based on quality rather than quantity.
Beyond her social magnetism, Brandye exhibits a natural gift for observation; subconsciously uncovering connections between random facts to impose order on disorder. At times, even such a gift can become a liability when the drive to analyze the details can grind progress to a halt. During our interview, Brandye suggested that facing decisions with an abundance of options or details brings progress and decision making to a standstill.
