One of the requirements to receive the $840 a month that the member had to complete their flight physical in a timely manner. When my staff member checked the status, the member had not completed a physical within 3-months. This meant that the member would have to remit $2,520 for the 3-months non-current. Once we stopped the members pay we found out from the member that she had completed the physical on time and the information did not reach us. Once we were aware of this we restarted her pay. In this scenario leadership was not effective as we should have contacted the member prior to stopping her pay. This would have eliminated the extra work required to stop her pay and then restart it again. Using my leadership strengths, I would use transformation leadership to ensure that out checklist is followed in each situation and I would use my coaching to teach my staff on the proper communication needed to ensure there is no wasted time in the future. Using the two areas where I need to improve I would enhance the use of development by upgrading my staff member’s knowledge of how to carry out proper procedures and I would enhance change management by instituting the proper upgrades needed by staff. This would include making updates to the processes and databases used to track flight physicals so that we have proper oversight when it came to flight physical completion dates. These areas would improve the outcome of this scenario
