Being a freshman in college is kind of similar to being a freshman in high school. In high school we get the opportunity to be involved in activities and clubs. Why not do the same in college? Getting involved in clubs and organizations can make the college experience ten times better. We have the opportunity to meet new people, get involved, and discover our strength. To all upcoming freshman, they should get involved in a club or organization on Shorter University campus. One example of an organization on Shorter University campus is the SSNA. What is the SSNA? The SSNA stands for Shorter Students Nursing Association; it is a local division of the Georgia State Association of Nursing Students. The Shorter Student Nursing Association mission statement is to mentor students preparing for initial licensure enrolled in a baccalaureate nursing programs. They get to share their opinions and thoughts about events. Volunteering at events will give them a chance to meet all kinds of new people. Taking the opportunity to join the Shorter Student Nursing Association helps the upcoming freshman to discover new friends with similar interests. With the new friends that share the same interests as them, they are more likely to have the same classes with them. The Shorter Student Nursing Association is a good way to meet people and make a study group. With these study groups the upcoming freshman can understand a lot and do well on their test. When they meet new people it is a great benefit for them because they can be the people they will work with in the future. Not only for jobs but it teaches them people skills and how to interact with
