Cigarette smoking is one of the leading causes of death in Canada, and around the globe. *One cigarette has over 4000 chemicals in it, which can lead to hundreds of diseases including lung disease, cancers, heart problems and much more. Cigarettes are comparable to many drugs that are illegal today, they are toxic to anyone smoking them and the people around them, and they are quite harmful to the environment. With all of the anti-smoking campaigns we see today, it is a wonder why cigarettes are still legal in the country. I think the government should go a step further and ban the sale and use of cigarettes in Canada. Most people do not consider cigarettes to be in the same category as illegal drugs like cocaine, heroin or marijuana.
