Good morning hospital staff. As you all may know we have received information a heart that has become available for transplant. Unfortunately, we have three recipients who need a new heart, but we are only able to provide it to one patient. We know that all life is worth being saved; which is why this is not an easy decision to make.
Jerry is a loving husband, father of three, and sole income earner in his family. Therefore he has his entire family depending on him. In addition, he has one autistic child which further adds to the great need for two healthy parents within their household. Jerry’s life expectancy with a new healthy heart is approximately 10-15 years. Within this period of time, he could continue to be the sole provider for his family and also proceed to make plans for his demise which could lighten the burden for his family in a future without him. Her parents would do anything to keep her alive and well as they are unable to conceive again. Therefore, Lisa’s demise directly affects her parents.
