Ordinary citizens should not be allowed to carry handguns. The majority of people also agree that carrying guns might be very dangerous, because they usually serve a single purpose: to kill. Yes, it is hard to think from this perspective, but we have to in order to analyse the issue from a complex perspective. A gun is a not a harmless accessory, just like a necklace. That is why carrying it requires responsibility.
It requires a good mental health too. Stressed, angry and hurt people are more vulnerable; and, consequently, more inclined to commit a crime, even if it was not their intention. Also, keeping a gun at home increases the chances of an accident. A child, for instance, could have access to it and shoot someone, destroying a family. A silly traffic discussion can turn into a fight as well and then a murder. People get more courageous handing a gun, that is why it is harmful for everyone around.
