Young Americans were encouraged to join the war drafts through a lottery box as the drafts began on September 16, 1940. People were encouraged to aid the war efforts by buying war bonds and donating to charity. Years later, joining the military was no longer mandated; it was a choice for people to join and serve their country. Now a lot of people have stopped enlisting in the military as it's no longer a mandatory thing, as a lottery box could choose them to join the war back then. Young Americans should be encouraged to join the military and aid their country as it gives a good sense of patriotism. However, many young Americans are unfit to join the military as they are mentally or physically incapable of joining the military as it would be a major challenge for them.
