Siddhartha Gautama also known as Buddha the “enlightened one” was born and taught mostly in Eastern India. He was the founder of Buddhism the religion and also the philosophical system. Buddhas most famous sermon was the “Middle Way.” The two main teachings of Buddha were the four Noble Truths and the Eightfold Path. If you were to follow each step of these paths you would be promised with a never-ending life of rebirth and Nirvana which is total peace with ones self. The main philosophy taught in Buddhism is that we never truly die our souls just goes away from our bodies another way of saying nothing is impermanent.
