Gotama was a religious leader who had many followers and was also known as “Buddha.” In this book, Gotama had help Siddhartha realize that he, himself should only listen to himself and for him, is to only judge himself. Siddhartha later then became aware that the teaching from other mentors will not help him seek enlightenment which he states “never again will I cast down my eyes in anyone’s presence, not anyone’s” (pg.20). To this, the song “Follow your heart” by Mario Frangoulis relates to Siddhartha in the manner that it expresses how you should “follow your heart wherever it takes you, nobody knows.”
