Two of the noted historical figures, Clara Barton, and Lemuel Shattuck are both from the state that I am currently living; this was an interesting surprise; two very different but influential personalities who have made great contributions to public health. Both made very significant contributions on different levels; one focused on the personal care the other focused on science and policy. Boston, Concord and the town that Clara Barton once resided are within an hours drive from my current home. Living so close will make learning more about these remarkable individuals more interesting.
