I must speak with your lord and master.” -King Arthur in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Arthur traveled all around England on a search for noble knights to help him find the Holy Grail, a task given to him by God. In a lot of ways, King Arthur and his squad of knights mimicked early human migration. Like during migration, King Arthur traveled around from place to place instead of remaining stationary. However, early migrations occurred all around the earth while the knights only moved across England. The knights all began at Camelot, after they were gathered by Arthur, and discussed their quest from God: to find the Holy Grail. Shorty after this they split up, attempting to cover more ground faster during their search. The first migrating societies all originated in Africa, much like how the knights were all together in Camelot. However, early migrations took many different tribes into different continents and across different seas just as the knights of the round table traveled to different places in England. Camelot to the knights, was like Africa to paleolithic societies; an origin point before their travels. Monty Python and the Holy Grail tells a story of the travels of knights, much like how history books tell the travels of paleolithic societies. Both groups traveled instead of living in a permanent place. However, early migrations covered much more ground than Arthur and his knights. Both travelers spread out instead of remaining together in a big group. These two events took place hundreds of years apart, however, both have striking similarities.
