In William Shakespeare’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, the main character, Lord Macbeth, was an aspiring king with a dark secret that led to his ultimate downfall. Alexander Hamilton was a United States founding father with a secret personal life and a passion for his country so extreme that it sometimes led to terrible occurrences for his family and him. Though these stories of these men take place at different time periods, they are parallel in many ways. This is explained in a song in the hip hop Broadway musical Hamilton.
