Some similarities between the two stories was that in both cases there were witnesses to the event that occured. In the story “The dying girl that no one helped” the witnesses was her neighbors. And in the story “The Crucible” the witnesses were the girls and the people of Salem. In both stories these people were aware of what was happening at the time, they just chose to put themselves first meaning keep their best interest at heart and not speak up or say anything. The reason to why the witnesses of “the dying girl that no one helped” didn’t help Ms. Kitty was because the neighbors didn’t want to have to go to court, be questioned, or become a potential suspect.
