Mink from “Zero Hour” and Peter and Wendy from “The Veldt” have many similarities and differences. One similarity is that everybody underestimated their imaginations which led to some dangerous things. In “The Veldt”, Wendy and Peter locked their parents in the nursery and let them get eaten by lions because their parents turned off the house. Since their parents didn’t listen to them they had to pay the price. In “Zero Hour” it is much the same. Mink’s mother doesn’t believe that Drill, Mink’s imaginary friend is a real and will create an invasion on Earth. Once she realized that Mink was telling the truth it was too late.
