Socrates then proceeded to Cebes and states that the body is not immortal and the Soul is immortal. To start of, Socrates gives two more points to prove that the soul is different from the melody of an instrument. Firstly, Socrates points out that there are good and bad spirits around, and convinces Simmias to see that a good soul can be comparable to an instrument in the correct tune, and a bad soul as in the wrong tune.
