Learning to balance your media and physical life as the theme of Simon Sinek's interview (2016), "Millennials in the workplace interview." Sinek begins his interview by first presenting the ‘problem' with Millennials. He argues that "They are accused of being entitled and narcissistic, self-interested, unfocused and lazy - but entitled is the big one" (2017, 00:18-00:30). As millennials grow up to go into the workplace they are often asked by leaders; "what do you want?' And millennials will say ‘we want to work in a place with purpose, we want to make an impact, we want free food and bean bag chairs.' And yet when provided all these things they are still not happy. For example, Sinek collaborated to millennials, “basically it is becoming hard wired and what we are seeing is that they grow older, too many kids don’t know how to form deep, meaningful relationships. ‘Their words, not mine” (2017, 05:36-05:48). Sinek acknowledges and reinforces the use of “they say, I say” strongly shown here, as he states their point from their (millennials) words. He then continues to strengthen his argument through the use of Parallel structure. Sinek builds up and toughens his point, “we put them in corporate environments that care more about the numbers than they do about the kids… We care more about the year than the lifetime. We are putting them in corporate environments that are not helping them build their confidence…” (2017, 10:32-10:53). The repeated use of ‘we’ makes his point stand out, which is that it’s our fault.
