The trip from Central America into the southwestern United States that many undocumented make is regarded as the “world’s most dangerous journey.” Abduction, sexual assault, and murder are daily occurrences along the route. Yet, despite the immense danger, a steady stream of people—the majority being unaccompanied minors—risk life and limb to make the journey. Such a decision thwarts logic and forces one to question why so many tempt kidnapping, rape, or being kill to immigrate. The answer revolves around the current state of the Central American countries they emigrate from, which are some of the most violent countries in the world (Renwick). The reality of this violence and experience are on full display in the 2009 film Sin Nombre, or Nameless.
