During the 1960s, America went through political tensions on college campuses concerning what was deemed right for all students despite their background. On February 1, 1960 at Greensboro College, a sit-ins occurred from four African-American students at the lunch counter where only white people are served. This sparked interest in students at the college and by February 5, about 300 students joined the sit-in and the repercussions were felt at the local businesses (History.com).
