Introduction
The purpose of this presentation is to evaluate my current level of skill acquisition on my serve. “Skill acquisition is the science that underpins movement learning and execution.” My serves weaknesses are in my legs; knee bend, and jumping up and into the ball. There is also a problem with my follow through, as I walk over the baseline and would not be ready for my opponents return. My serve's skill acquisition is at the associative stage, due to the lack of leg work and minimal follow through. The associative stage, “is concerned with the practice of the motor skill.” (Amezdroz, 2010) In this case the skill is the tennis serve. My legs need to do more work, which will then change other stages of my serve. I am comparing Roger Federer’s serve because he is

Feedback allows me to correct my individual wrongs and what my coach says what was right and wrong. Intrinsic feedback is my own personal feel of my serve. Whereas extrinsic feedback is from a coach. Last year my coach discussed with me to improve my leg work in my serve. After continuously practicing my serve every second day during the holidays there is a large difference in my serves accuracy and I have more variety and can rely on my serve to get me some quick and easy points. Now I am slowly incorporating legs into my serve. If I jump 30cm higher my ball toss have to change it’s height. My coach gave me some ideas on what to do to improve my leg work and using a skipping / jump rope was one of them. “The jump rope is an excellent tool for enhancing athletic performance.” I compete in a sport that involves, “coordination, footwork, quickness, hand speed, agility.” (Hunt, n.d.) As well as this one of the quickest people on the tennis court use a skipping rope, rafael nadal. Therefore, feedback has already allowed me to improve my serve as well as allowing me to get constructive feedback from my coach on what I can do for a better
